Versant Health is excited to expand its current network program under your Superior Vision In-Network Provider Agreement to now include Davis Vison customers and plan designs.

As one of the nation’s leading administrators of managed vision care, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of MetLife, Inc., Versant Health serves more than 35 million client members nationwide. As a result of this network enhancement, you will now be an “in-network” provider with access to the more than 20 million members that receive covered vision services through our Davis Vision program.

Who is Davis Vision?

Davis Vision has operated in the vision benefits space for over 100 years and has been a third-party administrator and network administrator under its parent company, Versant Health, since 2017. Currently, Davis Vision products are offered nationally by thousands of employers, health plans, and administrators and cover more than 20 million members.

Why is Superior Vision making this change?

Versant Health, the administrator of Superior Vision and Davis Vision, has been working over the past few years to more closely align and simplify its product offerings and administration for employers, members, and providers. By allowing existing Superior Vision providers the ability to serve Davis Vision members, it will provide new access to additional patient volume for your office and further align Versant Health’s marketplace offerings.

What commercial business (employer groups) does Davis Vision serve in my area?

Davis Vision covers members in all fifty states either directly through employer groups or through health plans and administrators. Davis Vision customers include some of the largest employers in the country covering manufacturing, aviation, municipalities, service, and labor trades, including. federal government employees (FEDVIP) and members from several Blue Cross Blue Shield plans throughout the country.

How do I administer the Davis Vision plan?

The Davis Vision plan is administered very similarly to how you are already administering the Superior Vision plan in your office. You use the same provider portal to verify eligibility, review benefits, submit claims and review claim status. You will also use the same portal to submit materials orders for Davis Vision under the Eyewear Dispensing Program (EDP). This portal is available 24/7.

If I have a question on benefits or eligibility for a Davis Vision member, where do I call?

You can continue to reach us at the same phone number, 1 (800) 507-3800, where you’ll receive the same exceptional service you enjoy today. Our customer service team is dedicated to providing outstanding support during regular business hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm EST, and Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm EST, excluding holidays.

Additionally, you can access our Interactive Voice Response System (IVR) 24/7 to verify member eligibility and benefits coverage.

How will I know which copays to charge?

The provider portal provides eligibility and benefits information to administer the plan, including the copays to charge members for services and materials.

When will this be effective?

The effective date of this change is noted in your customized amendment as well as in the cover letter you received via certified mail.

Do I need to submit new credentialing information?

No, your credentialing information is currently valid and on file with Versant Health, enabling you to now see members under both Davis Vision and Superior Vision.

Is Superior Vision changing? Do I still have access to Superior Vision members?

Your participation and ability to serve Superior Vision members is not changing. Versant Health and its customers will continue to offer Superior Vision in the market in the same manner as it does today.

Will my office have access to Davis Vision’s exclusive frame collection?

At no cost to you, your office may be eligible to have our Exclusive Collection of 220 frames available to display for both Davis Vision members and your private patients. Please contact your Network Representative to discuss access to the Exclusive Collection.

Are there any additional discount programs for my office with Davis Vision?

Yes, Excel Advantage is a program under Davis Vision that allows you to purchase Exclusive Collection frames at steep discounts for your non-plan and private pay patients. These frames can be purchased through the Versant Health Portal.

Who can I contact if I have any questions on this amendment or want to serve other Davis Vision plans (i.e., Government programs)?
